James Acaster reveals Jerry Hall Traitors confrontation was cut

James Acaster has revealed that a confrontation with Jerry Hall was cut from the final edit of Celebrity Traitors. The 41-year-old comedian shared details of the exchange on Alan Carr’s Life’s a Beach podcast, saying Hall, 70, confronted him face to face and accused him of being a Traitor.

Face-to-Face Accusation

Speaking on the podcast released today, Acaster said: ‘Jerry Hall went right up to me face to face, this close, accused me of being a traitor.’ He recalled that Hall declared ‘I think it’s James,’ to which he replied, ‘I think it might be me as well, Jerry.’

According to Acaster, Hall told him ‘you’re very sneaky’ during the exchange. The Off Menu podcast co-host continued: ‘I was like, “I am sneaky, and it could be me.” And then she was like, “Mmm”, and then went away.’

Faithful Traitor Strategy

Hall had caught on to Acaster’s game despite his so-called ‘Faithful Traitor’ strategy. Acaster said he was sure the exchange would end up in the final cut, which aired on October 30, but editors decided otherwise.

His true nature was only revealed to viewers and the last remaining Faithfuls during a heated roundtable. After being quizzed about the murder that banished Ross Komp from the castle, Acaster admitted willingly that he was a Traitor, but added that he had been recruited against his will.

Unlikely Sex Symbol

Acaster became an unlikely sex symbol during the latest series, and he admitted he enjoyed the attention. He said the Covid lockdowns had left him feeling like ‘that’s it, over for me,’ so it was ‘quite a nicer turn of events to be fancied on Traitors.’
