ITV Cancels Love Island 2020 Summer Series Amid Pandemic

ITV has cancelled the summer series of Love Island for 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, dashing hopes for a new batch of islanders. The 2019 finalists, however, have remained in the spotlight, with many capitalising on their fame.

Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea won the 2019 series and shared the £50,000 prize, but split just 39 days later, making them the first winning couple to break up. Greg reportedly ended the relationship via text, though both have since said there are no hard feelings. Amber has become a millionaire through endorsements, while Greg returned to rugby and became a youth ambassador.

Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, who finished second, are the only couple from the 2019 final still together. They moved into a home in Manchester and have pursued lucrative deals: Molly-Mae with fashion and beauty brands, Tommy with boxing and supporting his half-brother Tyson Fury.

Ovie Soko and India Reynolds split four months after the show amid cheating allegations, which Ovie denied. Ovie has signed deals with Asos and Diet Coke, and appeared on Celebrity Bake Off, while India has worked with Boohoo and PrettyLittleThing.

The 2019 series holds the record for most break-ups among finalists, with only one couple remaining together. ITV has not announced plans for a future series.
