Channel 4 has released a trailer for I Am Helen, the latest instalment of its I Am anthology series, and viewers are already reacting emotionally. The two-part drama, starring Bridgerton favourite Nicola Coughlan, explores "the experience of womanhood within a world shaped by masculine power, aggression, and control".
The synopsis states: "Told through a female lens, the story examines the pressures and expectations placed on women while confronting the realities of toxic masculinity and the damage it can create in modern relationships."
Cast and Premise
Irish actress Coughlan plays the title character, while Peaky Blinders star Joe Cole plays her boyfriend of five years, Steve. The teaser shows Helen beginning to question her relationship after Steve's behaviour towards her unexpectedly changes. It also includes uncomfortable scenes of the couple arguing as Helen tries to uncover the truth behind her partner's sudden change of heart.
The show is set to debut later this year, but it is already leaving a mark on viewers.

Hope the release date is announced soon," commented one. Someone else said: "This is going to be painful but so good," while a third added: "This looks incredible, heart-breaking and powerful.
