Fans have reacted emotionally to the trailer for Nicola Coughlan's new two-part Channel 4 drama, I Am Helen, ahead of its release later this year. The latest instalment of the I Am anthology series follows Helen as she begins to question her relationship when her partner's behaviour towards her unexpectedly changes.
The Bridgerton actress stars opposite Peaky Blinders actor Joe Cole, whose character Steve has been her boyfriend for five years. The drama's focus is described as "the experience of womanhood within a world shaped by masculine power, aggression, and control".
Story and Synopsis
Its synopsis adds: "Told through a female lens, the story examines the pressures and expectations placed on women while confronting the realities of toxic masculinity and the damage it can create in modern relationships."
The newly released teaser includes uncomfortable scenes of the couple arguing as Helen tries to understand the change in her partner, reports the Mirror.
Fan Reactions to the Trailer
The programme is scheduled to launch later this year, but it is already making an impression on audiences. Following the trailer's release, fans have taken to social media to share their anticipation.

(but totally worth it to watch Nicola be absolutely *brilliant*)." Another viewer commented: "this gave me goosebumps!!!! ."
Earlier episodes of I Am are currently available to stream on Channel 4's on-demand platform ahead of the new drama.
