Gordon Ramsay is set to show a 'very different' side in his upcoming six-part Netflix documentary, Being Gordon Ramsay, due in February. The series offers behind-the-scenes access as the TV chef prepares to launch one of his biggest restaurant ventures, 22 Bishopsgate, a £20m project with five culinary experiences in one of London's tallest buildings.
Described as 'unflinchingly honest' and 'heart-warmingly funny', the documentary follows Ramsay balancing work and family life with wife Tana and their six children. The synopsis promises a view of Gordon 'as we have never seen him before', opening doors to his home and businesses over six months.
In the trailer, Ramsay calls the venture 'the most ambitious project I've ever opened'. Tana says, 'People think they know Gordon... but he's just Gordon to me,' while daughter Tilly notes his pursuit of 'perfection' on TV. Holly adds, 'He's a very different person to what he is on set. He's just dad.'
The documentary also explores Ramsay's humble beginnings, growing up on a council estate in Daventry. 'I still remember my school uniform having holes in my secondhand trousers,' he says. 'There's always a needle of fear you're gonna lose it.' As pressure mounts, he admits, 'It scares the [explicit] out of me.'
