Sydnie Christmas, the 29-year-old winner of the 2024 series of Britain's Got Talent, has revealed she has not spent a penny of her £250,000 prize money. Instead, she has placed the entire sum into a savings account with plans to use it for a house deposit or to pass on to future children.
In an interview, Christmas said: 'I've put it all away in a savings account because I want to save for a house at some point. All I ever wanted was stability, to be able to move on in the future and one day have children and things like that, so now, luckily enough, I've been given that.' She added that she intends to use the money 'in the right way' and will only treat herself once her career generates additional income.
Since winning the show, Christmas has completed her debut album, My Way, which was released last month, and performed at events including the Blackpool Illuminations, where she estimated the crowd at between 80,000 and 100,000 people. She described the experience as 'unbelievable' and 'the best experience ever'.
Christmas also discussed her relationship with Simon Cowell, noting that the music mogul is 'very hard to get hold of' and jokingly suggested he 'hasn't got a phone'. She recalled his advice to 'go for whatever you want, because you can. You have the power to go for what you want.' She also praised choreographer Arlene Phillips, calling her a 'god' in musical theatre and saying she recently sought her advice during an overwhelming period.
Looking ahead, Christmas is set to perform at the Hollywood Bowl in three weeks for David Foster's 75th birthday celebration.
