Eamonn Holmes has apologised to GB News viewers after offensive language was broadcast during a live programme. The 66-year-old presenter, hosting Breakfast With Eamonn And Ellie alongside Ellie Costello on Wednesday, addressed viewers following an interview with local transport minister Lillian Greenwood.
Holmes stated: 'Not from [Lillian], but apparently there may have been some bad language. It's like being 15 again, being told off. I'm not sure what the bad language was but no one meant to cause any offence. If it was me, I certainly didn't mean to cause any offence.' He added: 'If you're locked up in a room now, shivering away having heard bad language while your child should have been at school, but watching it and offended - so humbly sorry.'
The incident occurred earlier in the show during a discussion with political commentator Olivia Utley about potential consequences if the United States withdrew from NATO. During the conversation, Holmes said: 'I'd take no b******t from him. He thinks he scares people, shouts at people, they buckle over him whatever it is.'
In a separate interview, Holmes expressed regret over his divorce from ex-wife Ruth Langsford, saying he would 'try to find a better balance' between his career and personal life if given the chance to go back.
