Passengers Fume After Dog Owner Lets Pet Sit on Plane Tray Table
Dog on Plane Tray Table Sparks Outrage Among Passengers

A viral video showing a dog sitting on a plane tray table has sparked outrage among passengers, with many calling the behaviour 'disgusting' and 'totally unacceptable'. The footage, shared on X (formerly Twitter), shows a small dog perched comfortably on a tray table, gazing out of the window while its owner sits nearby.

Passenger Captures the Incident

The passenger who recorded the clip expressed their dismay, stating: 'This woman brought her dog on the flight with her. But the dog was not inside its carrier as it is supposed to be. You can see she has the tray table folded down and yep, that's her dog sitting on top of it... I love dogs but this totally unacceptable. That's just wrong. Disgusting. Don't forget to bring wipes with you and clean off your tray tables.'

The user also asked followers what they would have done in the situation: 'What would you have done? Would you have said something directly to the dog owner or would you have let the airline attendants handle it?'

Commenters were quick to weigh in. One user said: 'People are unbelievable.' Another added: 'Love dogs, but a tray table isn't a dog bed. Airline rules exist for a reason — let the flight crew handle it.' A third replied: 'Yuck. In defence of the dog, it's apparent its owner has no lap for the dog to sit on.'

However, not everyone was bothered by the sight. One person questioned: 'Maybe it's just me, but I thought the plane was cleaned after every flight?' Another joked: 'Could be worse. Could be a honey badger.'

Airline Rules for Pets

For most airlines, small dogs allowed in the cabin must remain in a carrier under the seat in front. Larger pets travel in climate-controlled cargo areas. Service dogs are an exception and can stay with their handlers. It is unclear whether the dog in the video was a service animal or if flight attendants intervened.

The seven-second clip has since gone viral, sparking debate over stricter enforcement of airline rules versus leniency for pets.
