Strictly Come Dancing duo Dani Dyer and Nikita Kuzmin have revealed they will attempt a never-before-seen move on the BBC show, trying it for the first time just days before their live performance.
Appearing on Good Morning Britain on November 4, the pair discussed their journey on the show and what lies ahead. Host Susanna Reid asked: "This weekend, we understand you are going to do a move that have never been done before on the Strictly dance floor."
When pressed for details, Nikita confessed: "I can't really say what it is just yet. We will try it tomorrow for the first time if it actually works."
A Bold New Trick
Nikita described the move as "half a lift, half a trick, half of whatever came up to my mind. We will try it tomorrow." Dani quipped: "He loves to throw in a trick, he really does."
Nikita responded: "It's also fun, it's fun for the viewers to see new things, try new stuff. Sometimes it's good to be bold and try things. They may work, they may not but you might as well attempt them."
Risk of Going Wrong
With only days remaining before Strictly returns, Susanna asked whether the move comes with the risk of going spectacularly wrong, or if they would drop it if rehearsal proves too hard. Nikita admitted: "If it doesn't work tomorrow, then we will have to figure something else out."
Dani revealed one ballerina move they "only got the day before we went," as Nikita added: "I like everything being exactly perfect to the exact details."
Praise for New Presenters
The duo were also quizzed about this year's changes, including the fresh presenting line-up which has faced scrutiny from audiences. Nikita remarked: "Honestly, I am loving it. We love them. To see as well JoJo there with us, he's one of us. For him he knows exactly what we are going through, he's been in our shoes. Emma and Josh are smashing it downstairs so listen, I love it."
Last weekend marked Halloween week on the programme, with one pairing netting 36 points and another couple eliminated in the first three-way dance off, where Bethany Antonia and Nancy Xu faced Lawrence Robb and Jowita Przystał, and Jaime Winstone and Carlos Gu. The judges sent Lawrence and Jowita home, as the surviving couples prepare to compete again this weekend.
