Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood will miss this weekend's show after testing positive for Covid-19. The 56-year-old, the only judge to have appeared in every series, is now self-isolating in line with government guidelines.
A Strictly spokeswoman confirmed that he is expected to return for the following week's episode. 'While Craig will not be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this weekend, all being well he will return the following week,' she said.
Revel Horwood's absence adds to a series already affected by Covid, with celebrities Tom Fletcher and Judi Love also missing shows due to positive tests. Other health issues have also impacted the competition, including Robert Webb's withdrawal and Ugo Monye missing an episode with a back injury.
This weekend's show is musicals week, and Revel Horwood, known for his West End background, will be absent. On Monday's It Takes Two, host Rylan Clark wished him well, saying: 'We are sending you all our love and we can't wait to see you, really soon.'
Meanwhile, seven couples remain in the competition after Sara Davies was eliminated. The previous show featured a standout performance from deaf contestant Rose Ayling-Ellis, who danced to muffled silence with partner Giovanni Pernice, earning a near-perfect 39 out of 40 from the judges.
