Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd has hinted that Christmas in Weatherfield will not be without 'some drama' this year, as he revealed he has been filming scenes for the upcoming festivities.
The actor, known for playing David Platt in the ITV soap, which is filmed in Salford, said that both he and on-screen brother Ben Price, who plays Nick Tilsley, had been busy at the Greater Manchester set. Soaps typically film anywhere from eight to ten weeks in advance.
Filming Christmas Day scenes
Speaking on the latest episode of their podcast, On the Sofa, which they co-host with former Corrie castmate Colson Smith, Ben said: "We finished late at work because we were filming Christmas Day." He then added: "It's Christmas in the Bistro. We can say that, can't we? Probably can't, can we?"
After Colson pointed out that Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany Platt, had shared a photo from the Bistro set, Ben continued: "Normally Nick closes it, gets in the kitchen himself. Toyah's on cooking, I'm on decs and table layout. So that's how we split it."
"And it's who's there – that's a classic, isn't it? We can't reveal who's there." Jack then added: "There's always some drama on Christmas Day…"
Festive glimpses on the cobbles
While details for what lies ahead for Christmas 2026 are yet to be revealed, earlier this month, actor Ryan Mulvey gave fans of the ITV soap a first look at this year's festivities in Weatherfield.
The Brody Michaelis star took to TikTok with a video full of clips he had captured while filming upcoming scenes. In the clips, snow could be seen covering the street, with the likes of Alison King (Carla Connor-Swain), David Neilson (Roy Cropper), Sue Devaney (Debbie Webster), Peter Gunn (Brian Packham), Pauline McLynne (Maggie Driscoll), Catherine Tyldesley (Eva Price), Aaron McCusker (Ben Driscoll), and Sally Carman-Duttine (Abi Webster) all involved in what appeared to be night filming at the Greater Manchester set.
Since then, actor Nathan Sussex has also shared a glimpse at a festive-looking Weatherfield, as the actor appeared to tease that he may be back on-screen soon. As Corrie fans know, he joined the long-running programme earlier this year in the role of Richie Parkinson, and was revealed to be Tim Metcalfe's cousin.
Richie's storyline continues
Things, however, took a horror turn when Richie, who suggested he was having marriage troubles, accidentally left his wallet behind. When Tim went to return it, he was left in shock as he saw Richie's shirt covered in blood and Rachel lying lifeless on the floor.
After Richie was arrested and charged with the crime, it was confirmed that his daughter, Lucy, would be placed in temporary foster care. But when her placement fell through, Tim went behind Sally's back and organised a meeting with the social worker, saying he and his wife would take her in, as they had done with the Michaelis children - Brody, Joanie and Shanice.
While the storyline still appears to have some way to go, Nathan took to Instagram with a smiling selfie outside a decorated Rovers return and told his followers: "Very festive in Weatherfield," before adding a winking face and the Christmas tree emojis.
