Corrie fans predict Ronnie Bailey affair twist

Coronation Street fans are convinced that Ronnie Bailey could be heading for a surprise cobbles fling, with tensions high between him and his wife Debbie Webster. The theory has gained traction after Debbie's dementia has worsened and her behaviour has become increasingly unpredictable.

Ronnie and Debbie's Struggles

Ronnie (Vinta Morgan) first appeared on the ITV soap in 2021 and has since been central to several major storylines, including his romance and marriage to Debbie (Sue Devaney) earlier this year. However, Debbie received a vascular dementia diagnosis last year, and her condition has deteriorated significantly in recent months.

This week, Debbie was reunited with Paula (Kelli Hollis), whom she met in prison earlier this year. Paula had taken Adam Barlow's (Sam Robertson) engagement ring, and in Monday's episode (October 26), Debbie confronted Paula and demanded its return, as reported by the Daily Star. Debbie subsequently handed the ring back to Adam and Alya.

Fan Predictions

With tensions running high between Debbie and Ronnie, fans have taken to a Coronation Street Facebook fan page to predict an affair twist. One person said: "I really hope they don't split up Debbie and Ronnie or have him have an affair with someone." Another viewer suggested Fiona Morley (Sara Poyzer), the shady businesswoman whom Ronnie previously had a relationship with, writing: "Probably that Fiona." A third added: "I thought the same, she's made it clear to him in the past that she's interested, poor Debbie."

Sue Devaney on Her Future

Earlier this year, Sue Devaney spoke candidly about her future on the soap, telling BANG Showbiz: "I think when an actor gets to a certain age they think, 'This is quite nice. I can go home every night, I can have my tea, I'm not living out of a suitcase.'" She added: "And it's nice to have a regular wage, because as an actor you never know what's next. So as you get older you think, 'This is quite nice.' But if it's not to be, it's not to be."

Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
