Coronation Street fans have been left intrigued by a suggestion from actress Lucy Fallon regarding Jodie Ramsey's future after she was shot in dramatic scenes on the ITV soap.
Jodie's life was left hanging in the balance at the end of Thursday's (October 8) episode, filmed in Salford, when she was accidentally shot by her older sister, Shona Platt.
Jodie's sinister games
It was only in January that the long-lost siblings were reunited following a horror crash between characters from Weatherfield and the Emmerdale village. The incident saw Shona go into premature labour, while Jodie became injured after escaping being tied up by Dales returnee Graham Foster.
Feeling sorry for her after Shona's frosty reception, David invited Jodie to stay at No.8 Coronation Street, but it has left them, their family, and some neighbours subject to Jodie's sinister games.
After previously attempting to get between Shona and David, Jodie was recently seen trying to make Shona and her loved ones think she is suffering from post-natal depression as she struggles with baby Harper. Viewers have also seen her switch her father Doug's psychosis medication when she realised he was onto her, resulting in him being taken back to a secure mental health unit.
The shooting
With Shona seemingly out of the picture, after Jodie set up Lily Platt as the one responsible for making Shona question her sanity, Jodie was seen going all out to seduce David when Shona arrived home.
It was soon revealed that David had been playing along with her seduction, as he had hidden his phone under a towel, allowing his wife to listen in before she interrupted them. As David and Shona confronted Jodie, she struggled to worm her way out of her latest plan, especially after David pulled out her trinket box.
Backed into a corner, Jodie pulled out a gun, but Shona and David seemed unbothered as she had previously convinced them the weapon was fake. Tackling her sister head-on, a scuffle broke out, and Shona ended up pulling the trigger, with a gunshot ringing out. It was soon clear that Jodie had been shot, as she clutched her stomach and fell back onto the sofa.
Fans react to Lucy Fallon's tease
Ahead of Jodie's life-threatening moment on-screen, actress Olivia Frances Brown spoke out about her character, marking a year since she first started filming for the soap. In response to the post, Lucy, who plays Bethany, an enemy of Jodie's for some time, got fans talking as she said: "Bethany n Jodie enemies to lovers xxx."
Fans responded with enthusiasm, with one writing: "I could get on board with this actually," and another commenting: "Oh now YES when's this happening?" One fan shared the post on X (formerly Twitter) and wrote: "That's what I've been saying," while another suggested: "Lucy is just determined to get Bethany a girlfriend."
