Coronation Street CCTV clue could expose Brody's sabotage

Coronation Street viewers believe they have spotted a vital clue that could expose Brody Michaelis's involvement in the destruction of Underworld. On the popular ITV soap, Carla Connor's (Alison King) cherished factory has been in dire straits in recent months.

The iconic character faces losing her business due to mounting financial difficulties. This week, she broke the news to staff including Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) and Fiz Dobbs (Jennie McAlpine) that she was struggling to keep the company afloat. She also delivered the blow that there would be no Christmas bonus this year.

Idris Nazir's Plan to Acquire Underworld

What Carla remains unaware of is that ruthless businessman Idris Nazir (Kal Nazir) has set his sights on acquiring Underworld - and it seems he'll stop at nothing to get it. Enlisting Brody's assistance, Idris persuaded the youngster to grant him access to Underworld to cause havoc. Once inside, he used a lighter to trigger the sprinkler system before slipping out through the back door.

As water poured through the building, a distraught Carla rushed inside to discover her entire stock ruined, with water cascading throughout the factory.

Aftermath of the Factory Damage

In Wednesday's episode (November 4), the aftermath continued to unfold. Carla was forced to tell her loyal workforce that she could only afford to pay them one final wage. She also revealed that the factory would remain closed indefinitely owing to the extensive damage sustained. Meanwhile, Brody was wracked with guilt upon witnessing the full consequences of his actions.

To compound matters further, Carla confessed to wife Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) that she had never maintained the sprinklers, making it highly unlikely that any insurance claim would be successful.

Fans Point to CCTV Footage

Despite this, fans are now convinced that the incident will ultimately come back to haunt Brody after noticing a telling clue. On X, viewers highlighted how Brody may well have been captured on the factory's CCTV footage.

"Hopefully someone will actually look at the extensive CCTV and realise that Brody damaged the factory," wrote one viewer. Another added: "But are we expected to believe the factory has no alarm system, no CCTV cameras."

A third commented: "Body will get himself jailed as he'll be on CCTV entering the factory in broad daylight." While a fourth remarked: "Surely the factory has CCTV!"

Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
