Christine Lampard Tipped to Host Strictly After Lorraine Exit

Christine Lampard has confirmed her departure from ITV's Lorraine after eight years, following major schedule changes at the broadcaster. The show will be cut from one hour to 30 minutes and air on a seasonal basis from January 2026, with Good Morning Britain taking over the 9-10am slot for the rest of the year.

Lampard, who regularly filled in for host Lorraine Kelly on Fridays, shared an emotional video montage on social media, thanking colleagues and fans. 'After many years of being part of the @lorraine family it is now coming to an end,' she wrote. 'We've laughed, lunched and learnt so much from one another. Colleagues who have become the best of friends.'

Fans expressed disappointment, with some suggesting Lampard could replace Tess Daly or Claudia Winkleman on Strictly Come Dancing. One viewer wrote: 'You are always excellent and you are my pick for @bbcstrictly host.' Another quipped: 'I hope you'll be continuing to present….. or should I say, keeeeep dancing?!'

Dr. Hilary Jones also confirmed he is leaving his role as the show's resident medic at the end of the year. He told The Sun: 'I'm still working there until December 31 and then I'm a free agent. It's liberating from the constraints of a news programme presenter.'

Lorraine Kelly admitted she was 'disappointed' by the job losses, telling BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs: 'The thing that has upset me the most is the fact that we've got this great team, and obviously, that's not going to be in place next year because jobs will go.'
