Channel 5 has announced the premiere date for its new detective thriller, The Curfew, based on Jayne Cowie's 2022 novel After Dark. The six-part series originally aired on Paramount+ in 2024 and will now debut on Channel 5 on Monday, February 16 at 9pm.
Set in a dystopian world, The Curfew imagines a society where all men are subject to the Women's Safety Act, enforcing a strict curfew from 7pm to 7am. Their movements are monitored via ankle tags. When a woman is brutally murdered during curfew hours and her body left at the Women's Safety Centre, veteran police officer Pamela Green suspects a man is responsible.
The series features a star-studded cast including Sarah Parish (Stay Close), Mandip Gill (Doctor Who), Lucy Benjamin (EastEnders), Anita Dobson, Bobby Brazier, Larry Lamb, and Alexandra Burke in her television acting debut. The first episode airs at 9pm on February 16, with episodes three and four following on February 17 and 18 at 10pm. The entire series will be available as a boxset on 5 streaming from February 16.
