Celebrity Traitors' 'huge blunder' could expose them

The Celebrity Traitors could be exposed after a risky 'murder in plain sight' task, according to former contestant Amol Rajan. He believes the moment involving all three Traitors may have left them vulnerable to suspicion in their biggest blunder yet.

Celebrity Traitors continues tonight at 8pm on BBC One following last week's explosive episodes. After Professor Hannah Fry's banishment, Traitors Maya Jama and James Acaster recruited King Kenny, and now they face their next task: a murder in plain sight. The trio must make another contestant yawn and then ask "am I boring you?" which will seal their victim's fate.

Traitors' gathering could be costly

Plotting the risky murder has brought the three together, but Amol believes their decision could prove a costly mistake. He questioned whether their gathering in one room could undermine what had been a strong game for the Traitors. It comes after Hannah Fry offered insight that Traitors are rarely seen together, but for this murder in plain sight, they have been.

Writing in his Metro column, Amol said: "In her brilliant interview for Uncloaked after she was banished, Professor Hannah Fry revealed a killer insight from her analysis of previous series: Traitors never, ever hang out together."

"And yet… that’s exactly what James, Maya and Kenny did at the end of the last episode. It was a beautiful example of how ‘murder in plain sight’ elevates the game to another level. Might it have occasioned the Traitors’ first huge blunder?"

Maya could reach the final

Despite the potential slip up, Amol believes Maya could make it all the way to the final. He added: "The woman I encountered was so smart and self-deprecating that it really brought home to me the eternal truth that you don't know anyone from their public profile. That's what makes this series so brilliant. Each player's reputation precedes them."

Amol also revealed that producers released the celebrity contestants' names three days before filming began, allowing players to research one another before arriving at the castle, something that had not happened in previous series. But the murder in plain sight carries a huge risk as Maya, Kenny and James were in one room as they were torn between killing off Jerry Hall or Ross Kemp before midnight.

Viewers react to the challenge

It's all to play for at the moment, and the question on everyone's mind is whether the Traitors can pull off the murder. Taking to X, one person wrote: "Being a traitor can be so stressful omg because what is this murder in plain sight??? it's going to be so hard for them to pull off and if they do I don't think they are going today survive it."

Another said: "The latest challenge of murder in plain sight on #celebritytraitors Only need one traitor to do that task!" A third added: "James and Maya are yawning for their lives what kind of murder in plain sight challenge was this?"

A fourth stated: "I get that yawning is contagious but on clebrity traitors?? The faithful will clock this murder in plain sight, especially if they succeed with it.... I just don’t want anything to happen to James Acaster please." Another predicted: "even if james and maya SOMEHOW pull off the murder in plainsight literally everybody is going to know that only three people couldve done it cause they were together all night?? Or they'll just get accused of yawning from being tired from being traitors like."

Celebrity Traitors returns tonight at 8pm on BBC One.
