The Voice UK 2026 concluded on Saturday night, October 31, with Welsh singer Cate McHugh crowned champion. Emma Willis announced the winner after the four remaining acts performed in the live final, which was pre-recorded and decided by the studio audience.
Final line-up and performances
Cate McHugh represented Team Sir Tom Jones in the final, competing against Monique Nicholson-Porter from Team Kelly Rowland, Naná Aldrin-Quaye from Team will.i.am, and Frank Raven, who was selected by Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones. Eight other singers had been eliminated during the semi-final the previous weekend.
Each finalist performed solo before joining their coach for a duet, with the acts battling to be crowned champion of the series.
Winner announced and reaction
After a series of performances, Cate was named the 2026 winner. Speaking after her win, an emotional Cate said: "Thank you, I did it."
Viewers shared their reactions on X, with one person writing: "Aw well done Cate." Another added: "Winner by a mile! Congratulations Cate! Simply the Best." A third said: "Yessssss get in! Cate was incredible." Someone else wrote: "Aw Sir Tom won his last series, I'm actually emosh," while a fifth viewer said: "So glad for Kate, but also for Sir Tom."
Pre-recorded format and prizes
Because the entire series was pre-recorded, viewers at home could not vote by phone, app or text to choose the winner, a format that has often sparked criticism from fans expecting a live interactive element. Instead, the winner was determined by the studio audience.
As champion, Cate will receive a Universal Music Group recording contract, a £50,000 cash prize, and a luxury holiday. During the final, the audience was treated to a performance by MOBO and BRIT Award-winning artist Ella Eyre, and the episode opened with a coaches' performance set in a warehouse that transformed into a Studio 54-style disco party with vibrant lights, sweeping camera shots, and high-energy visuals. The Voice UK is available to stream on ITVX.
