Stevie Nash's Career on the Line After Secret Relationship

It has been a dramatic time in Casualty for fan-favourite Stevie Nash, played by Elinor Lawless, as BBC viewers learned that her position at Holby ED is in jeopardy. Her co-worker and friend Dylan Keogh (William Beck) discovered she had been having a secret relationship with his son and junior doctor Matty Linlaker, and he reported her to Clinical Lead Flynn Byron (Olly Rix).

During Saturday's episode (June 20), the allegations against Stevie were described as 'amounting to sexual coercion', leading to meetings with a board of HR members involving Matty, Dylan, and Stevie. The trio came to blows once again as Stevie later apologised to Matty for everything that had happened.

However, Matty replied: "You're not sorry, Stevie. You've realised I've got the power to end your career and you're worried what I'm going to say, right?" As she asked him what he was going to say to the HR members, he did not answer. Stevie was later seen in tears confiding in Flynn, admitting she did not want to leave her job.

When the episode came to an end, viewers saw Stevie meet with the board members as she told them: "Look, before we get started. I just wanted to apologise unreservedly for my behaviour. I have no doubt whatsoever that I've made mistakes. But, I'm a bl**dy good doctor. I deserve to be here, and I'll fight tooth and nail to make sure I stay."

Mixed Fan Reactions to Stevie's Storyline

It was not long before people reacted to the episode, with many having mixed feelings over Stevie and her future on the long-running medical drama. One person said: "WE CAN'T LOSE STEVIE." As another wrote: "Fight for your job, Stevie." Someone else added: "THE WAY STEVIE ENDED THE EPISODE. I'm so happy." While one fan commented: "Stevie is going to fight for her job. Hopefully, she isn't leaving now."

However, not everyone shared the same enthusiasm over Stevie fighting for her job, with many wanting her to leave. One person wrote: "Don't like this storyline. Add in real life, Stevie would be on suspension, I would've thought." Another added: "So tired of Stevie."

Casualty is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
