Bridgerton season four is set to premiere on January 29, with the first four episodes arriving on Netflix. Based on Julia Quinn's novel An Offer from a Gentleman, the new season focuses on Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson). At his mother's masquerade ball, he becomes enchanted by a mysterious woman in silver, unaware she is actually a servant named Sophie Baek.
Sophie Baek is played by Yerin Ha, an Australian actress of South Korean descent. Her grandmother is the Korean actress and politician Son Sook. Ha previously appeared in Halo and The Survivors. The season also introduces Katie Leung, known for playing Cho Chang in the Harry Potter films, as Lady Gun, a widow eager for Benedict to marry one of her daughters.
Other new cast members include Michelle Mao as Rosamund, Lady Gun's eldest daughter, and Isabella Wei as Posy, the younger sister. Wei is a Hong Kong-born actress and dancer who starred in Netflix's 1899 and Black Doves. Returning cast members include Claudia Jessie as Eloise Bridgerton, Ruth Gemmell as Violet Bridgerton, Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Featherington, and Adjoa Andoh as Lady Agatha Danbury.
Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley will reprise their roles as Anthony and Kate Bridgerton, though with minor appearances. Bailey confirmed to Good Morning America: 'Being the elder brother, I'm going to be there to support the youngsters.' The season also features the return of other Bridgerton siblings and supporting characters.
