The cast of ITV's beloved comedy Benidorm are reuniting for a major UK stage tour, which will bring them to the North East in 2027. The tour will stop at the Sunderland Empire on March 13, with tickets going on general sale at midday this Friday, November 6.
Nearly two decades have passed since Benidorm first aired, with its debut episode broadcast on February 1, 2007. Viewers quickly took to the staff and guests of the fictional Solana hotel in the Costa Blanca resort, often affectionately dubbed 'Blackpool in the sun'.
Stars from the show's 11-year run
Over its 11-year run, the show featured stars including Tim Healy as receptionist Lesley, Sheree Hewson as manageress Joyce Temple Savage, and Sheila Reid as the iconic Madge Garvey. Notable cameos came from Denise Welch, Joan Collins, and BAFTA winner Sheridan Smith.
The final episode aired in May 2018. Months later, a musical adaptation toured the UK after premiering in Newcastle. Now, Benidorm returns to the stage with dates announced on Tuesday, including the Sunderland Empire stop.
Tour details and ticket information
Each night will be hosted by show creator Darren Litten, with cast members Crissy Rock, Asa Elliott, Hannah Hobley, and Oliver Stokes appearing. More cast members are expected to be announced ahead of the tour.
The tour begins in Watford and will also visit York, Edinburgh, and Glasgow before reaching Sunderland on March 13.
