The Capture Star Ben Miles Unveils 'Thrilling' Season 3 Details on The One Show
Ben Miles Teases 'Thrilling' Season 3 of The Capture

Ben Miles, the acclaimed actor portraying Commander Danny Hart in the BBC's hit series The Capture, has shared exciting new details about the show's highly anticipated third season. Appearing on The One Show, Miles teased a "thrilling" and complex narrative that promises to captivate audiences once again.

Deepfake Drama Returns with Intriguing Twists

The Capture, a drama centered on deepfake technology, made its comeback earlier this month after a four-year hiatus following its second series. Season three picks up a year after the events where Rachel Carey, played by Holliday Grainger, exposed a government minister's deepfake, revealing the UK intelligence service's covert video manipulation program. Carey has since ascended to the role of acting commander of Counter Terrorism Command, a position formerly held by Hart.

Ben Miles on Danny Hart's Journey

During his interview with hosts Clara Amfo and JB Gill, Miles delved into his character's arc. "My character Danny Hart got himself out of it at the end of the last season," he explained. "He said, 'I've had enough'—he just couldn't deal with the kind of immorality of the whole thing. So he's kind of in the shadows, enjoying the life of corporate consultancy, maybe a bit of golf."

However, Miles hinted at a compelling turn of events: "But there's something that happens in this series that draws him back in, and he can't help but get himself involved again to try and fix it once more."

Layered Storytelling and Cliffhangers

Miles praised the intricate plot of the new season, stating, "This show, I mean the previous two seasons were brilliantly layered, but this season three has so many fabulous layers to it." He emphasized the suspenseful nature of the episodes, noting, "At the end of each episode, there's always that moment you go, 'No but I thought...' and every episode ends with this kind of cliffhanger."

He added, "I can't really tell you that much more about it because you'll just have to watch it, but it is very layered, it's very thrilling."

Tension Between Characters

The actor also shed light on the dynamic between Hart and Carey, acknowledging their past affair and current separation. "I guess there is an element of some may see of kind of, is there something still there?" Miles mused. "Danny Hart would like to think so, but in reality, I don't think so. I don't think he's in the running anymore, I really don't!"

The Capture continues to air on BBC One, offering viewers a gripping exploration of technology and morality in modern society.
