Alison Steadman, the actress renowned for portraying Pam Shipman in Gavin and Stacey, is reprising her role in the BBC sitcom Here We Go for a fourth series. The 79-year-old star was photographed smiling alongside her co-stars as filming commenced.
Filming Underway for Fourth Series
The BBC confirmed the news on its official Instagram press account, posting a cast photo with the caption: "Here We Go! The Jessop family are back. Filming has officially begun on Series 4." Returning cast members include Tom Basden, Jim Howick, Katherine Parkinson, Freya Parks, Jude Morgan-Collie, Tori Allen-Martin, Mica Ricketts, Ed Kear, and Jon Furlong.
The BAFTA-winning sitcom's fourth series "rejoices in the chaos of the Jessop family as they encounter love, loss, jealousy, a graduation, a birthday party, a surprise snail allergy and an eventful 'fun run'," according to the BBC. The show is available on BBC iPlayer.
Fan Excitement and Show Details
Fans expressed enthusiasm in the comments, with one writing: "Brilliant!! Love this series so much." Another said: "Fab news - best series in a long time." A third added: "Best news all day! My favourite family and I just can't decide who is my favourite character as every single one is brilliant in their own way!" One fan called it their "favourite sitcom ever."
Here We Go is created and written by Tom Basden, who also stars. The mockumentary-style series follows the Jessop family in Bedford, told through home video footage filmed by teenage son Sam, with flashbacks to life before the chaos. It first aired as a pilot titled Pandemonium on 30 December 2020 as part of the BBC's Comedy Playhouse series before being commissioned as a full programme.
US Remake in Development
International interest in the show is growing. BBC Studios confirmed in February 2026 that a US remake is in development with Universal Television and Amy Poehler's production company, Paper Kite.
