Comedian Alan Carr was left visibly squirming during his first television interview since his triumphant win on BBC's The Celebrity Traitors. Appearing on Thursday's episode of The One Show, Carr was ambushed by hosts Alex Jones and Roman Kemp, who were determined to relive his winning moment.
The Cringeworthy Moment
Roman Kemp, 32, set the scene by declaring they were about to show "one of the greatest television moments... of all time," prompting immediate protests from the 49-year-old comedian. Carr was heard exclaiming "Oh no, oh no!" while covering his mouth with his hand, clearly embarrassed at the prospect of watching his victory clip back. Alex Jones, 48, firmly supported her co-presenter, insisting "We have to relive that winning moment!" as the footage prepared to air.
An Unexpected Victory
In a later segment, Carr discussed the shock of his victory, revealing that even his own team had doubted his ability to succeed on the show. "Everyone was surprised!" he remarked. "People don't know this, my own agent had booked in work the first week. They went: 'You're not going to last in there with your motor mouth!'" Carr explained he had to cancel work and inform his dog walker he wouldn't be returning as quickly as anticipated, adding "I thought I'd be out first! I can't keep a secret!"
The Dramatic Finale
The nail-biting conclusion of The Celebrity Traitors saw only five celebrities remaining from the original nineteen contestants. Traitors Alan Carr and Cat Burns stood alongside Faithfuls Joe Marler, Nick Mohammed, and David Olusoga in the finale. Following a tense roundtable, only David, Nick, and Alan remained, with both Faithfuls convinced Carr was on their side.
In an emotional climax, Carr was forced to reveal his true identity as a Traitor, breaking down in tears as he confessed "It's been tearing me apart, I'm so sorry. I'm an awful human being." His fellow finalists comforted him with praise for his performance, telling him "you did brilliantly" and "it's alright."
The victory means Carr's chosen charity, Neuroblastoma UK, will receive the entire £87,500 prize fund. The One Show continues on weeknights at 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
