Netflix has revealed that the second season of 'Untamed' will take place in Hawaii, with Special Agent Kyle Turner, played by Eric Bana, investigating a mysterious death at Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park. The new setting marks a departure from Season 1, which was set in Yosemite National Park but filmed in British Columbia, Canada.
According to the show's co-showrunners, Mark L. Smith and Elle Smith, the move allows the series to explore a different national park's landscapes and cultural identity, while placing Turner in a new state of mind outside his comfort zone. Season 2 will consist of six episodes, with production scheduled to begin in spring. Filming will take place in Hawaii, where John Wells Productions and Warner Bros. TV previously shot the Fox series 'Rescue HI-Surf'.
'Untamed' debuted at number one on the Netflix Global Top 10 on July 17, 2025, and remained in the top 10 for seven weeks. It became the third most watched title on the platform in the second half of 2025, with 92.8 million views, according to Netflix's semi-annual report. The limited series was renewed for a second season following its ratings success.
