Plot and Cast

The official synopsis for the final season reads: "It all boils down to this. The fifth and final season of FX's The Bear picks up the morning after Sydney Adamu (Ayo Edebiri), Richard 'Richie' Jerimovich (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) and Natalie 'Sugar' Berzatto (Abby Elliott) discover that Head Chef Carmen 'Carmy' Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White) has quit the food industry, leaving the restaurant to them."

"With no money, the threat of a sale and a torrential storm in their way, the new partners must band together with the rest of the team to achieve one last service, hoping they'll finally earn a Michelin star. Ultimately, they learn that what makes a restaurant 'perfect' might not be the food, but the people."

Familiar faces Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas and Matty Matheson are all confirmed to reprise their roles, alongside appearances from Ricky Staffieri, Oliver Platt, Will Poulter and Jamie Lee Curtis.

Background and Cameos

Season 5 will continue from Carmy's heartfelt admission that he's walking away from the restaurant and handing over his stake to Sydney, Richie, and his sister Natalie, known as 'Sugar' (Abby Elliott). Following his exit, the remaining crew are left frantically working to obtain that prized Michelin star.

Throughout its five series run, the show has also boasted some impressive celebrity cameos, including John Cena, Brie Larson, John Mulaney and Bob Odenkirk amongst others. It remains to be seen whether any familiar faces pop up for one final curtain call.

For those unable to contain their excitement ahead of The Bear Season 5, Disney+ recently dropped a surprise hour-long bonus episode, titled Gary, featuring a flashback with Richie and Jon Bernthal reprising his role as Carmy's late brother Mikey.
