The critically acclaimed drama series The Bear, starring Jeremy Allen White, is now available to stream for free on ITVX in the UK. The show, which first aired in 2022, follows Carmy Berzatto, an award-winning chef who returns to Chicago to run his late brother's Italian sandwich shop.
Described as the 'best workplace drama since Mad Men', the series has been praised for its high-intensity scenes and emotional depth. Critics have called it 'horrifically stressful' yet 'thrilling, ambitious, funny, and devastating', with many viewers declaring it 'the best thing on TV right now'.
The first season was added to ITVX as part of the 'Taste of Disney Plus' initiative, which will bring a curated selection of Disney programmes to the platform over three months. Previously, The Bear was only available on Disney Plus in the UK.
The series has won 21 Emmy Awards and five Golden Globes throughout its run. It features a star-studded cast including Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Olivia Colman, Jamie Lee Curtis, and the late Rob Reiner in his final television role.
A fifth season has been announced, following the fourth which aired in June 2024. FX Chairman John Landgraf praised the show as 'one of the best shows on television', with the upcoming season set to continue the story.
