Amazon Prime Video has released the trailer for 'Scarpetta', a crime thriller starring Nicole Kidman as Dr. Kay Scarpetta. The series, based on Patricia Cornwell's bestselling books, premieres on 11 March.
The trailer shows Kidman's character, a medical examiner, on a hunt to unmask a serial killer. The logline describes her as "unrelenting" and determined to serve as the voice of victims, while confronting a case from 28 years prior.
Created by Liz Sarnoff, the series unfolds across two timelines: the late 1990s and the present day. Jamie Lee Curtis plays Scarpetta's sister, with Bobby Cannavale, Simon Baker, and Ariana DeBose also starring. David Gordon Green directed five episodes.
'Scarpetta' is executive produced by Kidman, Curtis, and others, produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Blumhouse Television.
