Vince Gilligan's new series 'Pluribus' has become Apple TV+'s most-watched drama series of all time, surpassing the previous record held by 'Severance' Season 2. The show, starring Rhea Seehorn, debuted with two episodes on November 7, 2025, and achieved the highest viewership for a drama series launch across Apple TV+'s 100-plus territories, including the US, UK, Canada, Brazil, Australia, Germany, Mexico, India, and France.
In the US, the strong performance was corroborated by Nielsen Streaming Content Ratings, which measured minutes for the first two episodes over premiere weekend. Luminate reported that 'Pluribus' logged 6.4 million hours with its first two episodes in the US over the first seven days, ranking fourth for the week behind shows with significantly more episodes available. There were also anecdotal reports of the Apple TV app crashing due to high demand.
Apple TV+ head of programming Matt Cherniss praised the series, stating, 'Rarely has keeping the secret of a show we love so much been as fun or as rewarding an experience as it has been with Pluribus. Vince’s strikingly inventive premise blew us away from the second we read it.' The show was picked up by Apple TV+ in 2022 with a two-season order after a bidding war.
'Pluribus' is a genre-bending sci-fi drama that follows Carol Sturka (Seehorn), described as the most miserable person on Earth, who must save the world from happiness. The cast also includes Karolina Wydra, Carlos-Manuel Vesga, Miriam Shor, and Samba Schutte. The fourth episode, 'Please, Carol,' debuts on November 21, 2025, with new episodes airing every Friday through December 26.
