A long-running debate among fans of cult television series has resurfaced, as action-packed thriller Nikita arrives on Prime Video. The show, which originally aired from 2010 to 2013, has often been compared favourably to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, with some arguing it surpasses the beloved classic.
Starring Maggie Q, known for her roles in Mission: Impossible and Ballard, the series follows a young woman rescued from death row by a secret government agency called Division. Trained as a spy and assassin, Nikita eventually turns against her handlers, seeking to expose and dismantle the covert operation from within.
The show was inspired by Luc Besson's French film and boasts an 88% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with its final, shortened fourth season earning a perfect 100% score. Despite critical acclaim, it struggled to attract a wide audience during its original run, eventually gaining a cult following.
