Netflix viewers are hooked on the new psychological thriller The Beast in Me, which dropped all eight episodes on 13 November. The series, from the creators of Homeland, stars Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys and has already climbed to number two on Netflix's top streamed TV shows chart.
The plot follows Aggie, an author recovering from her son's death, who becomes obsessed with her mysterious neighbour, the prime suspect in his wife's disappearance. Fans have praised the show as 'addictive', with many binge-watching the entire series in one sitting.
Critics have also lauded the series, which holds an 83% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The Guardian called it a 'taut psychological two-hander' that 'will surely win awards', while The Times described it as 'a classic thriller executed with such panache'. The Evening Standard added that 'with a killer cast, a compelling plot and a very convoluted cat and mouse dynamic, this is about as good as television gets'.
The cast includes Brittany Snow, Natalie Morales, David Lyons, and Jonathan Banks, among others. All eight episodes of The Beast in Me are available to stream on Netflix now.
