Netflix subscribers are being urged to watch the 2018 Spanish psychological thriller 'Mirage' before it potentially leaves the streaming service. Film reviewer Eccy Reviews, who shares TV and movie news on social media, described it as 'one of the biggest hidden gems' on Netflix, adding that he would be surprised if many people had heard of it.
The film follows Vera, a mother who interacts with the ghost of a child and saves his life, inadvertently causing a space-time continuum glitch that alters reality. Eccy Reviews called it 'one of the most shocking psychological thrillers' he has come across on the platform.
Starring Adriana Ugarte, Chino Darín, and Javier Gutiérrez, 'Mirage' was nominated for two Gaudí Awards in 2019. Viewers have praised it on social media, with one user saying: 'OMG! on your recommendation I watched this and it is brilliant even my 14 year old daughter sat up and ended up on the edge of her seat.' Another added: 'Watched it after seeing this! Omg it's so good.'
On IMDb, one reviewer described it as 'an understated thriller with a very good plot' and 'the best time travel film I've seen in a while.' Another said: 'I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. It's definitely worth a watch.'
