Netflix has unveiled the trailer for the second season of 'Beef', the anthology series created by Lee Sung Jin. The new season stars Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Charles Melton, Cailee Spaeny, and Seoyeon Jang.
Season 2 begins with a Gen-Z couple witnessing an alarming fight between their Millennial boss and his wife. Newly-engaged Ashley Miller (Spaeny) and Austin Davis (Melton), lower-level staff at a country club, become entangled in the unraveling marriage of General Manager Joshua Martín (Isaac) and his wife Lindsay Crane-Martín (Mulligan). Through favours and coercion, both couples vie for the approval of the elitist club's billionaire owner, Chairwoman Park (Youn Yuh-jung), who struggles with her own scandal involving her second husband, Doctor Kim (Song Kang-ho).
The cast also includes Mikaela Hoover as Ava and Matthew Kim as Woosh. Lee serves as creator, showrunner, and executive producer for the eight-episode season. Other executive producers include Jake Schreier, Steven Yeun, Ali Wong, Mulligan, Isaac, Melton, Spaeny, Anna Moench, Kitao Sakurai, and Ethan Kuperberg. A24 is the studio.
The first season of 'Beef', starring Steven Yeun and Ali Wong, premiered in 2023 and won numerous awards, including eight Emmys, four Critics Choice Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, two Gotham Awards, two Film Independent Spirit Awards, two SAG Awards, as well as PGA, WGA, and AFI Honours. That season followed two strangers whose lives collided after a road rage incident, based on creator Lee's personal experience.
