Netflix is set to release the documentary 'BTS: The Return' on Friday 27 March at 8am in the UK. The film follows the world-famous band as they reunite to create their fifth studio album, Arirang, offering rare behind-the-scenes access.
Directed by Bao Nguyen, best known for 'The Greatest Night in Pop', the documentary captures the group wrestling with doubts, honouring their past, and redefining their identity. Nguyen stated: “I did not try to tell the entire story of BTS... I tried to understand what this particular moment meant to them and what story could be found inside that.”
According to Netflix, the documentary will show the band contemplating how to begin again while growing as artists and global icons. Nguyen added that he observed “a brotherhood formed through creativity and through proximity, through living together, working together, growing up together, and carrying an enormous weight together.”
The release follows BTS's live performance on Netflix. For Korean audiences, the film will be available at 5pm KST, and for US viewers, at 3am Eastern and 1am Pacific time.
