The drama centres on Riley Flynn (Zach Gilford), a young man who returns to his small community after serving a prison sentence for killing a woman in a driving accident. He arrives home just as a mysterious and charismatic priest, Father Paul (Hamish Linklater), is rejuvenating the town's wavering faith. However, the town soon begins to witness strange supernatural occurrences.
