MrBeast has dismissed safety concerns surrounding his upcoming Amazon Prime Video series 'Beast Games', claiming allegations of unsafe conditions and sexual harassment have been 'blown out of proportion'. The YouTube star, real name Jimmy Donaldson, made the remarks on X after Prime Video released a teaser trailer for the show, which premieres on December 19.
Responding to a user who questioned whether the series was the same one where contestants complained of terrible conditions, MrBeast wrote: 'We have tons of behind the scenes dropping when the show does to show how blown out of proportion these claims were. Just can’t release it now because it would spoil the games.'
The allegations first emerged in a New York Times investigation in August, which spoke to more than a dozen contestants who reported inadequate food and medical care, as well as injuries during physical challenges. A subsequent class-action lawsuit against MrBeast and Amazon claimed contestants were subjected to 'unreasonable, unsafe, and unlawful employment conditions', including sexual harassment and hospitalisations.
The 10-part game show features 1,000 players competing for a $5 million grand prize by breaking world records and completing challenges. MrBeast said he 'poured everything' into the show, adding that his recent YouTube videos had suffered due to the time spent filming.
