Netflix is set to remove several popular films and TV shows from its platform by early January 2026, including the entire Harry Potter series and all ten seasons of Friends. The streaming giant regularly updates its catalogue, which means saying goodbye to some beloved titles to make room for new content.
Among the notable departures are the eight Harry Potter films, based on J.K. Rowling's best-selling books, which have achieved cult status and a dedicated global following. The prequel series Fantastic Beasts will also leave the platform. Additionally, the award-winning American sitcom Friends, a cultural touchstone that won multiple Emmys during its nine-year run, will be removed.
Other major titles leaving include the Transformers franchise, No Country for Old Men, 10 Things I Hate About You, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, Matilda, Split, Jaws, Mad Men, Suits, and Crazy, Stupid, Love. The list also features Mission: Impossible, The Blue Lagoon, and World War Z, which have already exited.
Netflix's rotation of content ensures that subscribers can look forward to new releases, but fans of these classics may want to catch them before they disappear.
