Plot details remain under wraps, but the season five finale hinted at a Greek getaway after Emily's on-again, off-again love interest Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) sent her a postcard. Gabriel had left his Paris restaurant to take a chef job on a yacht. Show creator Darren Star told Variety that Gabriel is Emily's “big love,” adding, “I can’t imagine the series without Gabriel.”
Key cast members returning for season six include Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Lucien Laviscount, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, and Andrew Fleming. The previous season ended with Emily torn between staying in Rome with her Italian beau Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) or returning to Paris, while her best friend Mindy (Ashley Park) secretly dated Emily's ex-boyfriend Alfie (Lucien Laviscount).
Despite mixed reviews, Emily in Paris remains a hit for Netflix. The latest season garnered 26.8 million views globally in 11 days and reached the top 10 in 91 countries. However, critics have pointed out the show's reliance on national stereotypes, with The Independent's two-star review noting that Emily's love interests embody clichés of their countries.
