A new Disney+ series, Furious, has been described by reviewer Eccy Reviews as "way too good to be kept a secret" from other viewers. It currently holds a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes and is set to run for eight episodes.
Eccy Reviews said viewers "definitely need to see it" to appreciate how good it is, promising that "after watching that first episode, you are going to be hooked".
What is Furious about?
The show centres on a woman working in the police force who "ends up leaving for this personal reason", according to the reviewer. She transfers to the FBI, but when one of her friends from the police force asks her to come to a crime scene, she discovers that a man who appears to have overdosed has actually been murdered.
The former officer finds out the killing was carried out by a woman who is "targeting specific men, who actually hurt her when she was younger". Eccy Reviews said viewers see "both sides of the story from the serial killer and the detective", describing it as "such a gripping watch".
He added that "all the performances are fantastic" and that "they're all going through their own mental issues" and have "past issues". "I can't wait to watch this show every single Monday," he gushed, urging viewers to share their thoughts if they've already tuned in.
Why aren't more people talking about it?
Despite the positive reaction, the series has not yet gained widespread attention. One commenter on Reddit wrote: "I know it has only been a few days since the first batch of episodes dropped, but I am a little shocked it is not gaining any traction yet."
"Do we think that is because it's a Hulu show? Or just strictly due to timing. I have told dozens of people in the last few days to watch, but have not gotten anyone hooked yet. Even this sub is lacklustre to my expectations," the user added.
"I would imagine over the next few weeks it will start to blow up. I was just a little shocked when I finished ep3 and went to find somewhere to talk about it or gather new information I may have missed, and struggled to do so."
Another person replied: "I saw no marketing for it. I only stumbled on it because I opened Disney Plus and it was on the new releases. I'm hooked and hope it picks up soon."
On Eccy's TikTok, one viewer wrote: "Watched the first three episodes of Furious and it's probably my favourite show of the year already."
