Disney+ and ITVX Announce Landmark Content Sharing Deal

The Walt Disney Company and ITV have announced a groundbreaking partnership that will see content from Disney+ and ITVX shared across both platforms. Described as a 'first-of-its-kind' agreement, the initiative aims to expand viewer choice and celebrate British and international storytelling.

From 16 July, Disney+ customers in the UK will gain access to a selection of ITV's most popular scripted and unscripted shows, including Mr Bates vs The Post Office, Love Island, Vera, and The 1% Club. Meanwhile, ITVX viewers will be treated to a rotating mix of Disney+ titles under the banner 'A Taste of Disney+', featuring hits like The Bear, Only Murders in the Building, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, and family favourites such as Lilo and Stitch: The Series and Phineas and Ferb, at no extra cost.

Joe Earley, president of direct-to-consumer at Disney Entertainment, said: 'We are proud of this innovative collaboration with ITV, which will allow us to bring Disney+ customers some of the UK’s favourite and buzzworthy shows and encourage ITVX viewers to discover some of Disney+’s award-winning series and blockbuster films.' Kevin Lygo, managing director of media and entertainment at ITV, added: 'Disney are fantastic partners with a brilliant breadth of content. This mutually beneficial alliance allows us to show our complementary audiences a specially selected collection of titles, regularly updating, that gives a flavour of the range in our respective offerings.'
