Sabrina Stocker, a former contestant on The Apprentice, has lifted the lid on the intense dynamics of Lord Sugar's boardroom. The 22-year-old, who was fired from the 2018 series after the interview stage, described the experience as 'a bit of a lion's den' in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk.
Stocker, who sought investment for her Tennis Events Company, revealed that being in the bottom three was particularly challenging due to the need to continue living with fellow candidates. 'It's quite tricky, because after the bottom three, you're going to go back to the house and live with the other person,' she explained. 'So it's a really strange, intense dynamic when you're in [the boardroom].'
However, the businesswoman admitted to a surprising source of support during boardroom confrontations. 'It was actually really nice because Karren and Claude were fighting my corner a lot of the time,' she confessed, referring to Lord Sugar's aides Karren Brady and Claude Littner.
Stocker also addressed the tactical nature of candidate selections for the final three, suggesting that decisions are often based on strategy rather than solely on task performance. 'I think that's why everyone kept bringing me back,' she said. 'It's a mixture of being tactical with who you bring in, as well as who was the right person to bring into the boardroom. And I think Lord Sugar is quite wary of that; he sees through [it] quite a lot.'
Meanwhile, the current series has seen viewers draw comparisons between candidate Mark-Ryan Parsons and comedian Michael McIntyre, with social media users noting similarities in appearance and mannerisms.
