William had been at the prestigious school for three years before Harry started in 1998, and was already settled into boarding life. The once-close brothers have experienced a fractured relationship for years, particularly since Harry stepped back from royal duties in 2020. They are no longer on speaking terms, and the last time they spoke is unknown.
Harry's Memoir Reveals the Exchange
In his 2023 memoir Spare, Harry wrote: "Willy told me to pretend I didn't know him." He added that William said, "'You don't know me, Harold,'" followed by, "'And I don't know you'." This exchange likely occurred when Harry entered Eton in 1998, when William was 16 and Harry was 13.
Prince George to Follow Family Tradition
Kensington Palace announced that Prince George will join Eton College this autumn, following his father and uncle. George turns 13 next month and is finishing at Lambrook School. Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8, will remain at Lambrook, near their home at Forest Lodge.
The palace statement read: "Kensington Palace can confirm that Prince George will attend Eton College from this September."
