Greggs Festive Bake breaks all-time sales record in 24 hours

The Greggs Festive Bake has broken an all-time sales record within 24 hours of returning to shelves on Thursday, more than two months before Christmas.

The pastry, which contains a mix of chicken, ham hock, bacon, cheese and spiced pork stuffing in a sage and cranberry sauce, sold more in its first day than on any other single day since its debut 17 years ago. It was brought back two weeks earlier than in previous years.

Record-breaking launch

Zoe Harris, customer director at Greggs, said: “We know the festive bake has a huge following, but this launch has been something else. We brought it back two weeks earlier than ever before because we know people are ready to start feeling festive sooner and, in just 24 hours, they proved us right. To see the biggest day of festive bake sales ever is incredible.”

The company now believes it is on course to sell more than ever during the entire season. The chain says the puff pastry bake, with its crunchy crumb topping, has been “fine-tuned for 2026”.

Seasonal range

The festive bake is part of a seasonal range that also includes pigs-under-blankets toasties, pepperoni pizza with hot honey, a festive feast baguette, festive flatbread and a sweet mince pie roll. There are also three new sweet treats and a range of seasonal drinks.

Greggs has also launched its Christmas cups alongside the new additions to its seasonal favourites range.
