William Could Strip Harry's Title When King, Expert Says

Prince William could strip Prince Harry of his title when he becomes King, a royal expert has claimed. Speaking on the Daily Expresso podcast, Sarah Hewson, a royal commentator and news presenter, said a brotherly reconciliation remains unlikely after years of tension.

Brothers Not Speaking Since 2022

It is understood that the last time Prince Harry and William spoke was at the late Queen Elizabeth II's funeral in September 2022. Their relationship has been fractured for years, with Harry's move to the US acting as a catalyst before he released his explosive memoir Spare, in which he recounted several private details about their relationship, including an alleged physical altercation over an argument regarding Harry's wife, Meghan Markle.

Hewson's Analysis on Forgiveness

Speaking about Prince Harry's recent trip to the UK, when Harry took his children to meet King Charles but skipped his brother, Ms Hewson said forgiveness was not on the cards right now. She stated: "I think it's difficult for them because while the King does want to heal those wounds with Harry, it's a very different story when it comes to William. I don't see any sign of any kind of wire between the two brothers, and Harry himself talked about it in his interview last year. He said the family will never forgive me, and I think William is in that position at the moment."

William's Potential Move as King

Thinking about when William becomes King, she claimed that Prince William would be more likely to strip his brother of his titles. The presenter continued: "I think William does have an appetite to strip them of their titles, I think, and he could punish Harry and Meghan with that one move."

Current Titles of Harry and Meghan

Meghan Markle's primary title is the Duchess of Sussex, and upon her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018, she also automatically received the subsidiary titles of Countess of Dumbarton in Scotland and Baroness Kilkeel in Northern Ireland. Prince Harry's official royal title is His Royal Highness The Duke of Sussex, though he is no longer addressed as HRH following his step back from senior royal duties in 2020.
