Should Royals Mark Meghan's Birthday? Poll

Meghan Markle is celebrating her 45th birthday today, with the former working royal likely marking her special day at her home in California. Meghan will undoubtedly be spoilt rotten by her husband Prince Harry and their two children, seven-year-old Prince Archie and five-year-old Princess Lilibet.

Birthday Plans and Royal Wishes

Whilst it is not known what Meghan has planned for today, she is likely to get many birthday wishes from her friends and family. Due to the couple's ongoing feud with the royals, it remains unclear if they will extend birthday wishes across the pond to Meghan.

Meghan and Harry have experienced a broken relationship with the royals over the past few years, especially since stepping down as working royals in 2020. But should the Royal Family mark Meghan's birthday on social media? Take our poll below.

King Charles's Acknowledgment

The King is known to publicly acknowledge many senior members of the family on their birthdays on social media - but he is unlikely to do the same for Meghan. King Charles, 77, however, did meet with Meghan in person last month, with the Sussexes bringing their children to spend time with their grandfather at Highgrove House on July 10.

The state of Meghan's relationship with the King remains unknown, although as he met her last month, he could extend birthday wishes in private. According to former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond, the monarch may reach out to Meghan by phone or send a birthday card.

She told the Mirror: "I doubt if there will be any formal birthday wishes posted for Meghan, but if the King really is in fairly regular contact – as has been suggested – then perhaps there will be a phone call or birthday card."

Royal Tradition and Exceptions

The King, following on from the late Queen, typically only sends birthday wishes to senior working royals on social media. He did, however, make an exception for Harry on his 40th birthday in 2024.
