Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice are reportedly putting distance between themselves and their parents as they try to navigate a humiliating social crisis, according to an insider quoted by Woman's Day.
Sisters 'going their separate ways'
The insider said: "They love each other dearly, of course, but they've realised that always being seen as a package deal hasn't necessarily helped them so they're going their separate ways."
"There's a lot at stake right now, they're both fighting to hang on to their place within the monarchy and that pressure has definitely got them feeling competitive."
Parents' scandal fallout
The sisters have had a difficult 12 months since their parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, were stripped of their Duke and Duchess of York titles due to a series of embarrassing old emails resurfacing.
Epstein was sentenced to 18 months in jail in 2008, but only served 13 months before being released in July 2009, and ordered to then serve a year's probation until August 2010.
Emails and arrest
In January this year it was revealed that an email sent to Andrew and Ferguson on July 24, 2010 had seen Epstein reveal his joy at serving his probation and finally being allowed to travel abroad, telling them: "I will be in Paris starting tomorrow."
Andrew replied: "Congratulations! Really, really good news. If you are in Paris around the 16th I'll be across to pay homage to your new life ahead!" Andrew signed the email off with 'HRH The Duke of York KG'.
He was also left squirming by the release earlier this year of an old photo of himself kneeling on all fours over a female lying on the ground.
In February, on his 66th birthday, Andrew was arrested at his cottage in Sandringham, Norfolk, on suspicion of misconduct in a public office for allegedly passing confidential UK information to Epstein when working as a trade envoy. Andrew - who MPs in Westminster have branded a "rude, arrogant and entitled man" - strenuously denies any wrongdoing.
Ferguson has been humiliated by her own emails to the American pervert that were also released in January by the US Department of Justice as part of the Epstein Files. Various emails see her plead for financial help, ask Epstein for a job running his household or in one desperate message in 2010 - after he was convicted of his sex crime - even ask the paedophile: "Marry me!"
Then Ferguson dragged her daughters into the spotlight after telling Epstein in an email that Eugenie was away on a "shagging weekend".
Fears over royal future
Now a source claims Eugenie and Beatrice - who joined their mother in visiting Epstein in New York at the end of his prison sentence - are worried about Prince William ascending the throne.
It is being suggested the pair fear they could suddenly be "shut out of events like Royal Ascot, or Christmas at Sandringham." They also fear they could "lose their homes" as Beatrice still has an apartment in St James's Palace, despite her main home being in the Cotswolds.
While Eugenie has Ivy Cottage, a three-bedroom property at Kensington Palace, which apparently serves as a 'bolthole' because she spends half the year living in Portugal.
If the siblings are thinking 'every sister for themselves,' then they learnt it from their parents, who have spent most of 2026 with their heads down while Beatrice and Eugenie face public ridicule alone.
