Princess Catherine has revealed that Prince Louis's favourite song is "Happy Birthday," a choice many will recognise. The disclosure came during a reception at Buckingham Palace marking the 25th anniversary of Place2Be, a charity supporting children's mental health, shortly before Prince Louis's second birthday.
At the event, Princess Catherine suggested singing "Happy Birthday" to two choir members, describing it as one of Prince Louis's favourites. While Prince William and Princess Catherine are known to enjoy pop music, their son's wholesome preference brought smiles to those present.
Heartfelt Message at Carol Service
This is not the only endearing moment involving the young prince. In 2024, Prince Louis left a touching note at his mother's annual "Together at Christmas" carol service at Westminster Abbey, which caught the attention of royal fans.
Prince Louis was among many who attached messages to the Kindness tree outside the abbey. His note read: "Thank you to Granny and Grandpa because they have played games with me." He attended the service alongside his older siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
Guests and Royal Family
The carol service welcomed 1,600 guests, including individuals who had supported others in their communities or faced difficult times during the year. Each guest received a personal letter from Catherine, thanking them and stating that "Love is the light that can shine bright, even in our darkest times."
Prince Louis is one of King Charles's five grandchildren, along with George, Charlotte, Archie, and Lilibet. The King is also step-grandfather to Queen Camilla's five grandchildren: Lola and Freddie Parker-Bowles, and Eliza, Gus, and Louis Lopes.
King Charles's Relationship with Grandchildren
Former BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond commented to OK Magazine on the King's bond with his grandchildren, saying: "When you've had a wonderful experience in life, it's natural to want to replicate it for your children and grandchildren. Charles had a magical relationship with his grandmother, the Queen Mother."
She added: "For all his serious ponderings on the state of the world and in spite of his heavy workload, Charles is quite a soppy old thing really, and I'm sure he hugely values the time he has available to spend with his grandchildren."
