Prince William doubts Harry and Meghan will last in UK

Prince William reportedly does not believe Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will remain in the UK for more than six months. The Sussexes returned to the UK at the end of August, six years after stepping down as working royals and relocating to Montecito, California.

Despite their return, Harry, 42, remains estranged from William, 44, who reportedly has no intention of reconciling with his younger brother. Reacting to the reports, News24 reporter Chloe Walker suggested that William and Princess Catherine, 44, are "sitting back" and waiting to see what happens, while King Charles is keen for the Sussexes to remain in the UK to ensure his two sons reconcile.

William and Catherine 'sitting back'

"Those sources told HeatWorld that William doesn't think they'll be here for another six months," Chloe remarked. "He and Catherine are just sort of sitting back and seeing what happens, I think. But the King is very keen to get them back together."

Earlier in the discussion, Chloe said: "It's interesting because we've heard that King Charles is really hoping for his sons to reconcile."

She explained that Richard Eden, a highly respected royal reporter, was told by a Buckingham Palace courtier that King Charles is planning something to mark the 30th anniversary of Princess Diana's death next year.

Plans to mark Diana's anniversary

"As we know, Harry is doing a documentary for that. Kensington Palace said to Eden that they're not going to disclose yet what William's plans are to mark the anniversary," Chloe continued. "But apparently the King is not objecting to the idea of a memorial or Thanksgiving service for Diana, and it will likely be very similar to the one that was done in 2007 on the 10-year anniversary of her tragic passing."

The courtier also appeared to take a swipe at Prince Harry's plans to make a documentary based on Diana to mark the anniversary of her death. "The courtier said that William will likely do a reading and that it would be a much more dignified thing for him to do than appear in a television show, which was an interesting comment," Chloe remarked.

William 'furious' over documentary plans

It comes after reports suggested William is "absolutely furious" with his brother's plans to make a documentary about their late mother, who was killed in a car accident aged 36 in 1997.

"Archewell Productions are apparently going to produce it, as they've got this sort of first-look deal with Netflix. I mean, the rest of the things they've been producing haven't done too well," The Mirror's royal editor Russell Myers told the Pod Save The King show on YouTube. "We had the Invictus documentary, we had the Polo documentary that absolutely bombed. And I just think this is beyond the pale for Harry to be saying 'Well I'm going to do this now'."

He warned: "Does Harry have a right to do this? I can tell you now that William will be absolutely furious about it."
