Prince Harry Forced to Accept Queen Camilla at Royal Reunion

Prince Harry was compelled to see Queen Camilla during his reunion with King Charles last week, according to a royal author. The Duke of Sussex, who has previously made critical remarks about his stepmother, met with both monarchs privately at Highgrove House on Friday.

Family Reunion Details

Harry brought his wife Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to the meeting. While Harry had been in the UK for nearly four days prior, Meghan and the children flew in that day for a brief stay, citing security concerns. The reunion lasted just over an hour and was kept highly confidential.

Non-Negotiable Presence

Royal author Catherine Mayer told PEOPLE: "She is a non-negotiable part of Charles’ life. There is no reconciliation with him without her." This suggests Harry had no choice but to accept Camilla's attendance. Harry had not seen his father since September, while Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet had not seen the King since 2022.

Camilla's Role

Camilla reportedly left her private estate, Ray Mill House, to join the King for "moral support." A source told Vanity Fair: "Charles wanted Camilla to be there for moral support and because she has been a pillar of strength for him throughout all the drama with Harry, and she dropped everything. She told no one, not even her family. She just got in the car and headed over. They were all on a mission to keep the meeting as watertight as possible." No other royals were present, including Prince William and Princess Catherine, who were attending a charity polo match in Windsor.
