Prince William and his eldest son, Prince George, made a surprise joint appearance in Spain on Tuesday night, and royal fans all noticed the same thing about the young heir. The Prince of Wales took George to the Spotify Camp Nou to watch Aston Villa face Barcelona in a Champions League clash.
While the football was the main event, fans were quickly distracted by George's sudden growth spurt, as he appeared remarkably tall next to his father.
Fans React to George's Height
On X, one fan wrote: "Prince George grew like 2 years in just 3 months." Another commented: "It's called puberty."
A third said: "I bet his Mum cried when she first saw him when home for the break." A fourth added: "They do at that age; it's scary." Another user remarked: "I said the same thing!"
Royal Welcome in Barcelona
Before the game, William and George were greeted by Barcelona's club president, Joan Laporta, who presented both royals with their own Barcelona shirts.
FC Barcelona had released a statement ahead of the match, confirming that "a very special guest" would be in the directors' box. The club noted: "Prince William, heir to the British throne, was not going to miss the chance to watch his beloved Birmingham side in action."
Villa's European Return
As patron of the Football Association and a passionate Aston Villa supporter, the Prince of Wales is a regular at the team's matches. His loyalty was rewarded in May when Villa defeated Freiburg to win the Europa League, securing their first European trophy in 44 years.
This season, Villa returned to Europe's premier competition, entering the Barcelona clash after back-to-back Champions League victories over Fenerbahce and Viking FK.
